Basketball is a world-renowned sport. Different skills and techniques must be learned and acquired in order to play this game such as shooting, and one of its important components is free throw shooting. Many coaches agree that free throw success is often the deciding factor between winning and losing by slim margins. They believe that the team had the higher free throw percentage win 80% of most games.
Athletes train both their body and mentality, and even though teams spend countless hours practicing free throws along with other aspects of the game, coaches still would argue that players tend to making lower percentage of free throw attempts in games more than in practice. This led to the researcher's idea in determining whether applying BF Skinner/'s Reinforcement Theory to basketball varsity players will have an effect on their free throw shooting abilities
